So excited that we finally got the air conditioner installed today! We didn't even have to cut any big holes in the side of the pop up. We did drill 2 small wing nut bolt holes in the side track for stability, but other than that, no modification to the actual pop up needed. It only takes a minute to set up, and cost next to nothing. Really looking forward to cool camping this summer!
Is there a horizontal support brace between the two vertical tracks? If not, how do you ensure they will not fall inwards?

ReplyDeleteThe 2x4s that the a/c is sitting on are screwed into the shelf brackets, and that prevents it from falling inwards. The heavy duty shelf brackets had holes specifically for screwing shelving boards in.
DeleteWould you mind sharing how you made this and the items you used and cost? I've been wanting to do this but I'm not 100% sure how to make it!
ReplyDeleteWe had all the windows in our house replaced by them and it has made a huge difference in our utility bill. Also, we don't hear the noise from traffic around us.

Where did you purchase the metal brackets and poles?

ReplyDeleteThey are just heavy duty adjustable shelves. We trimmed the up and down part to size. I'm pretty sure that we bought them from Menards
ReplyDeleteCan you show how it's connected at the top underneath the roof line. - Thanks
ReplyDeleteWhat did you use or do to connect the top of the brackets?
